What’s better than a stunning midcentury modern home in Venice, California? Honestly, not much, so you should probably keep reading to see the video interview with the architect!
What are some modern home design elements?
Today’s modern design blends comfortable elements with clean lines and smooth surfaces. Therefore, a trademark in modern interior design is a lack of unnecessary clutter. However, you will often find a carefully selected item, like a vase or a simple structure, incorporated into the decor.
When it comes to choosing wood surfaces, modern designs often feature the extremes – wood tones are likely to be very light or extremely dark. “I chose the Mohegan Oak because it’s got a very modern feel to it,” said Michelle Anaya; Designer/Architect. “I felt that it blended well with the walnut features – which gives you that feel.”
Okay, but what about midcentury modern flooring?
The Moderno Collection is the perfect addition to any modern home. This contemporary flooring features longer length planks, sawn-cut style and is smooth with light wire brushed texture applied 100% by hand. Moderno is the perfect blend of artistry and craftsmanship. “I’m very happy I selected [Mohegan Oak] for this home,” Michelle elaborated. “It gives it warmth and adds the design element that I intended. It embodies that classic mid-century modern look that is hard to achieve in an engineered floor.”
