Anyone can lay down tile or flooring and have it look nice, but have it not squeak when it is walked on, in an older house is very difficult. That’s where I give PTF five stars because they spent more time preparing the subfloor over which the new flooring or tile would be laid, than in the laying of the flooring itself. Very few if any other contractors would spend this amount of time on the subfloor preparation, because it more than doubles the time it takes to do the job. In our house they laid vinyl tile on concrete, and spent several hours removing all the old adhesive; they put down ceramic tile over wooden subfloor, and spent hours getting the floor dead silent; and they also put down vinyl faux wood flooring, and it looks perfect, without any squeaks or movement. I won’t use anyone else for carpeting or flooring from now on, they are that good.
